If you are missing all your upper or lower teeth, or the ones you have can't be saved, All-on-4 replaces the whole arch with teeth that stay in. The implant consultation is free, and you get your plan and cost in writing before anything starts.
All-on-4 is a full arch of fixed teeth held on four dental implants. The implants are titanium posts placed in the jawbone that act as roots, and the new teeth are screwed onto them. You don't take them out at home; you clean them in your mouth every day, including underneath. It is considered when a whole arch is missing or the remaining teeth can't be kept.
The two back implants can be placed at an angle to make better use of the bone you have. Depending on the case, that can avoid a bone graft. Some cases are planned with more than four implants, and that is decided from your X-rays and scans.
The difference from a removable denture is where it rests. A denture sits on the gums and can move, even with adhesive. All-on-4 rests on implants in the bone, so it stays in place to eat and to sleep, and an upper arch is usually designed without covering the palate.
